Microsoft on Monday released Office Web Apps on SkyDrive for users in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, and Canada.
The feature is available now on office.live.com, where users can view, edit, and share Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote documents from the browser.

New features include the ability to upload documents. If you have Silverlight, you can do batch uploading. Recently edited documents, meanwhile, will show up in a “Recent documents” section so they can be easily accessed.
For those collaborating on a document, Web Apps on SkyDrive will let multiple users access and edit a particular document at once, and no one can get locked out of the doc. If you make a mistake or don’t like what someone has done to the document, a version history will let you go back to older versions.
For on-the-go editing, meanwhile, users can access documents via office.live.com on most smartphones, Microsoft said.
Microsoft promised more details next week when Office 2010 is released to customers.
