Migrating From Microsoft Exchange 5.5 To Microsoft Exchange 2003 In A BlackBerry Enterprise Server Environment
When one upgrades the Microsoft Active Directory and Windows 2003 on the PDC computer, the process should not affect the BlackBerry Enterprise Server configuration because the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is a service that logs on through the Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) profile. When users are moved from the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Server to a Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account (for example, BESAdmin) is also moved to the Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server. After the user migration is complete, the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Server can be decommissioned. This paper describes how to migrate the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Server to a Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server within a BlackBerry Enterprise Server environment without interrupting BlackBerry Enterprise Server functionality.
